WIT and Its Top Companies for Women to Work in Transportation

broken image

The Women in Trucking Association (WIT) is a trucking organization comprised of administrators and drivers seeking the benefits of collaboration and community. These benefits range from sharing best practices to mentoring new professionals. Each year, WIT releases its list of the Top Companies for Women to Work in Transportation.

Recognizing that the male gender has traditionally dominated the trucking profession, WIT represents members who seek commitments to gender diversity and work requirements that stress work/life balance. Furthermore, it fights for equal compensation, benefits, professional development, and career advancement opportunities for women in trucking.

WIT launched the Top Companies for Women to Work in Transportation recognition program to recognize outstanding performance in all these areas. Each year, WIT officials select the recipients of this honor using a process that begins with the collection of nominations and the assessment of minimum threshold qualifications. A panel of industry professionals votes on all companies that meet those qualifications. The most recent Top Workplace for Women in Trucking list included roughly 100 winners, including large corporations such as Frito-Lay and dedicated shipping providers such as Tri-National.
